「竹のからかい」は、

若衆らが合せ竹を勇猛に引き合い、

豊年豊漁を占います。

小正月の左義長と同じものですが、

竹を引き合うのは、

青海地方独特のものです。

竹のかざり細工は昔から紙と糸だけで作られています。

 In "Take no karakai",

the young people bravely pull the joined bamboo each other and divulge the rich harvest.

It is the same as Sagicho in lunar New Year,

but pulling the bamboo is unique in Oomi region.

Bamboo decorations are traditionally made of only paper and thread.
